1. What is the difference between a vector program like Adobe Illustrator and programs constrained by pixels?
2. Please explain how to import an image from the web and convert it into a vector document using Adobe Illustrator.|||A vector image is an image made using a mathematical algorithm to lay out each point, allowing it to be fully scalable without losing quality. If you were to attempt to stretch a raster (pixel based) image, it would be choppy, fuzzy and unclear. But a vector image will stretch cleanly.
Converting a raster image to vector can be done in two ways. You can either un a filter to have it done for you, automatically, or you can trace it manualy. Filter tracing is recommended only for simple designs, as the results of manual tracing tends to yield far better results.|||A vector image is a description of the lines that make up the image. This makes it scalable, that is it can be an image of any size and it will not be pixilated.
A normal pixel image is a fixed size. If you make it smaller you lose detail. If you make it bigger then it will be pixilated or you need a program that can guess what to put in the spaces.
You will need a convertor to turn a normal image into a vector image.
